Statement by the Government of Canada on the Royal Assent of Bill C-10
The Honourable Rob Nicholson, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, accompanied by the Honourable Vic Toews, Minister of Public Safety, The Honourable Jason Kenney, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, and Senator Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu made the following statement today.
National Anti-Drug Strategy Action Plans
The National Anti-Drug Strategy focuses on prevention and access to treatment for those with drug dependencies, while at the same time getting tough on drug dealers and producers who threaten the safety of our youth and communities. It is made up of three action plans:
- The Prevention Action Plan which aims to prevent illicit drug use;
- The Treatment Action Plan which aims to treat those with drug dependencies; and
- The Enforcement Action Plan which aims to combat the production and distribution of illicit drugs.
